FSU Softball Trio Receive Atlantic Region Honors

Fairmont State's Chelsea Cobb headlines the group being named the Daktronics Atlantic Region Player of the Year. Cobb hurled the Falcons to the conference title game posting a 24-7 record and 1.72 ERA. Along the way she tallied 11 shutouts, and struck out 185 batters. Cobb was also named the WVIAC Pitcher of the Year in 2013.

Senior Holly Frampton hit .411 this year, earning a first team All-Region selection. Frampton smacked 18 home runs, drove in 49 runs and slugged .879in 2013.  She was also named the WVIAC Player of the Year.

Freshman Courtney Iacobacci received second team All-Region honors. Iacobacci led the Falcons in hitting with a .420 average. She also stole 11 bases and was perfect in centerfield committing no errors.

Fairmont's season ended when they did not receive an at-large bid into the NCAA DII tournament.

The Falcons won the WVIAC regular season title, but fell to West Virginia State in the second championship game during the WVIAC Tournament.
