The Doddridge County Sheriff's Department has arrested a West Union couple on child neglect charges.
Deputies have charged Catrina Louise Riley, 37, and Rusty J. Riley, 50, each with one count of child neglect resulting in risk of injury.
Child Protective Services, working with the sheriff's department, contacted the Rileys after receiving allegations of drug use in the couple's home that they share with their seven children. Rusty Riley admitted that there was marijuana, scales, and a pipe in the home along with straws that he said were used to snort pills, according to the criminal complaint.
Two of the children told CPS that they care for their 17-month-old brother while their mother is sitting on the couch or working, according to the criminal complaint.
After the children spoke to CPS, Rusty Riley told the children that they weren't allowed to call Catrina Riley "mom" anymore and that he wasn't going to do anything else for the children and that they don't respect him, according to the criminal complaint. The children have since been removed from the home.
The Rileys are being held in North Central Regional Jail on with both of their bails set at $5,000. They have a hearing scheduled for May 31.
