UPDATE: Fate of Lewis County Business Unknown

Update

Lewis County is still waiting to hear the fate of almost 200 jobs.

It's waiting for word from iPacesetters on whether the company will close its call center in Weston.

IPacesetters had planned to close the center at the end of May but postponed it, while state and county officials worked to keep the business here.

Original Story

Good news for iPacesetters employees in Lewis County.

The company said it will not close its call center in Weston at the end of the month.

The announcement will keep almost 200 people from losing their jobs.

Lewis County Commissioner Agnes Queen said the county has worked hard to keep the call center right where it is.

"I know our economic development director has been working very closely with the state development office, as well as the people who own the property and those who own the business, trying to figure out a way that they can keep them here," Queen said.

Queen said the business will remain open for the time being. There's no word yet on whether or not it will stay open permanently.
