BUCKHANNON -

The Strawberry Festival has kicked off in Buckhannon.

On Wednesday, organizers crowned the Strawberry Festival King and Queen.

First, the princes and princesses from every age group were introduced to the public.

Then, Hannah McComas and Stephen Butler were named the Strawberry Festival's King and Queen.

"I've never actually been a part of a festival as large as what the Strawberry Festival is. I'm from the small town of Ripley, and we don't have anything like this. So being able to win and be part of the Strawberry Festival is very exciting for me," said McComas.

Being the Strawberry Festival King is a tradition for Butler.

"It's a big honor for me. My son served for two years, about three years ago. So its been a big privilege for me," said Butler.

The Strawberry Festival will continue through Sunday in Buckhannon.
