The Morgantown Police Department has arrested a man in connection to several reported daytime burglaries, according to a news release from the police department.
On May 10, the police department received and responded to reports of suspicious activity. As a result of an investigation, the police department was able to identify a suspect matching the description of several reported daytime burglaries.
Gage Smith, 18 of Morgantown, was initially arrested for attempted burglary.
Morgantown Police Department detectives continued an investigation of area burglaries, and were able to obtain additional warrants for Smith's arrest for four other Morgantown burglaries that occurred between April 19 and May 15, according to the police department.
Smith was arrested on three additional charges of daytime burglary and two charges of grand larceny.
Police said additional charges are pending.
Smith is currently in the North Central with bail set at $25,000.
