Bass Fishing Tournament Held in Fairmont

The Marion County Bass Nation of West Virginia Invitational Tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday.

This was the third annual tournament which is a two-day, partner fishing tournament.

The winner of the tournament was the team that reeled in the most weight from both days combined, and the limit was six bass per day.

The conservation director for Bass Nation of West Virginia, Jerod Harman, said the group prides themselves in the way they take care of the fish.

"The large fish go into a special tank to be hand released, especially this time of year because we have some mommas out there, so we have to take especially good care of those. They're in this tank over here, and the larger tank is where the rest of the fish go and they're released back into the Mon River," said Harman.

The top weight of day two was just over 13 pounds.
