The Lewis County Commission is looking to make their new courthouse annex more secure.

In Tuesday's regular commission meeting, commissioners discussed getting photo ID badges for staff in the courthouse.

Commissioner Pat Boyle said it's a project that's been considered in the past, and with the addition of the new annex, they said it's time to make those changes.

"We have wanted to implement this for some time, and for one reason or another we just hadn't taken the time to do that, but now with the judicial annex coming into perspective and getting ready to open we thought 'well, we'll do all of it at one time," Boyle said.

The new annex will be open this summer, and Boyle hopes to have a system in place when it opens.
