Students at Pierpont Community and Technical College and West Virginia Northern Community College will soon have a new career path to choose from.

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Chancellor Jim Skidmore have announced the establishment of the Appalachian Petroleum Technology Training Center in Fairmont.

It will address the growing workforce needs of the oil and gas industry within the state and provide training opportunities for those who are interested.

"I'm very pleased that Northern and Pierpont have come together to train the people here. These will be good paying jobs and be for the long term. To have a facility like we are going to build here, that will have indoor and outdoor training, we will for generations be able to train our people," Gov. Tomblin said.

Students can begin enrolling for the Fall 2013 semester immediately.
