Monongalia County Health Department Offers Rabies Safety Tips

Posted: Updated:

The Monongalia County Health Department reports that a raccoon and fox from the area have both tested positive for rabies.

The Health Department wants to remind the community how to keep themselves and their pets safe.

Rabies in humans can be taken care of by making sure your animals are vaccinated. If you are bitten, getting the appropriate and immediate medical care is key.

Spaying and neutering your pets are also very important. This decreases the number of stray and unwanted pets that can carry the disease.
