BRIDGEPORT -

The Bridgeport Arts Council hosted a local talent showcase on Sunday.

Acts included the Vintage Theatre Company with Fearless Fools Improv, the Chanticleer Children's Chorus, and a jazz trio from West Virginia Wesleyan.

This was the first of what the Council hopes to be many local showcases.

The Bridgeport Arts Council also hopes to branch out into the community.

"We're trying a music in the park series this summer to see how it works out and hopefully if that takes off it will be good for the community. We also partnered with West Virginia Wesleyan College to do some clinics here in the fall with the students at Bridgeport High School and Bridgeport Middle School," said Mary Kay Greer, with the Bridgeport Arts Council.

More local talent showcases are already planned for July, August, September and October.
