NUTTER FORT -

The St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing opened in 1905 and closed in 1968.

For the past 60 years, graduates of that school have come together for a picnic.

On Monday, almost 30 graduates met at Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort for the annual picnic.

One retired nurse said a lot has changed since she was in school, and worked in St. Mary's Hospital.

"I really liked the three-year program because it was a hands-on program. Now the program is a lot different, I don't want to say its harder, but it's a lot more book-oriented. You don't have the hands-on with the patient that you had when I was taking my training," said Ruth Jaumot, a 1956 graduate.

One of the oldest graduates at the picnic was 92 years old.
