UPDATE: 1 Dead, 2 Transported to Hospitals After 2 Vehicle Accident In Harrison County

The driver of the Rav 4 SUV, Opal Hall, 85, of the Salem area, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown and later died there as a result of her injuries, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

The driver of the Dodge Dart, Donald Underwood, 82, and his passenger, Thelma Underwood, were both transported to UHC and later transferred to Ruby.

Original Story

One woman was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Healthnet after a two vehicle accident in Harrison County Saturday evening.

It happened at 4:23 p.m. on Route 50 near the Sun Valley exit in Reynoldsville.

Deputies said the woman pulled off of the Sun Valley exit onto Route 50 West into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The woman was trapped inside of her SUV and had to be cut out.

A man and a woman in the second car were transported to United Hospital Center by ambulance.

There is no word on the condition of the patients.

Harrison County Emergency Squad, Anmoore Emergency Squad, Harrison County Sheriff's Department, and the Reynoldsville, Nutter Fort, and Stonewood Fire Departments all responded.

Route 50 East was closed for nearly two hours, but has since reopened.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
