Firefighters Respond to 2 Fires in Monongalia, Marion Counties

Firefighters from Monongalia and Marion Counties responded to two fires that broke out simultaneously on Wednesday afternoon.

First responders arrived at the scene of a fire on Hite Avenue in Pleasant Valley around 2:15 p.m. Marion County 911 said the house was fully involved but was quickly under control after first responders arrived.

The Marion County Rescue Squad and fire departments from Valley, Bunner Ridge, Winfield, and Monongah responded to that fire.

Another fire destroyed a double wide on Mccurdysville Road in Core, near the Marion-Monongalia border, just before 2:30 p.m.

The River Road Fire Department is investigating.

Fire departments from Granville, Westover, Baxter, Rivesville, Grant Town, Fairview, Winfield, and Monongah also responded.
