UPDATE: State Fire Marshal: Barbour County House Fire Believed to be Arson

Update

The State Fire Marshal's Office said a fire that destroyed an unoccupied mobile home on Stone Cold Road in Brownton area of Barbour County June 14 is believed to be arson.

The owner of the home was fixing the trailer to move in and utilities were not on at the time of the fire.

Anyone with information should call the arson hotline at 1-800-233-FIRE or the Barbour County Sheriff's Department.

The State Fire Marshal will investigate a fire that destroyed a house in Barbour County Friday morning.

It happened on Stone Cold Road, just outside of Brownton.

The Barbour County Sheriff's Department said it believes the fire started around 2 a.m. but wasn't reported until 7 a.m.

Deputies said construction on the house was being finished and utilities had not yet been hooked up.

Deputies also said a family was getting ready to move into the house in about two weeks.
