The Clarksburg Police Department is investigating a four-vehicle accident that happened just after 3 p.m. Friday on Route 98 near Robert C. Byrd High School.

A Chrysler Town and Country minivan rear-ended a Frontier truck, which caused the truck to hit another Frontier truck in front of it. The impact of the crash caused the Town and Country minivan to hit the Highlander, which had swerved into the other lane.

The driver of the Town and Country minivan was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown by HealthNet and the driver's child passenger was transported to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport by an ambulance. Their conditions are currently unknown.

The eastbound lane of Route 98 was blocked while crews cleared the scene.

The Clarksburg Fire Department and Harrison County EMS also responded to the scene.
