The Philip Barbour Cross Country team is working hard for a rare chance at a four-peat.
The girls team is the three-time defending Class AA state champion, and the seniors are looking for a clean sweep.
As for the boys, they hope to get back to their winning past.
Considered a young and inexperienced team, last year the boys finished in the top five at states. But this season they're a year wiser, older, and runners say more determined than ever.
"The commitment is much higher than it was last year, I would say double what it was last year," said senior runner Scott Neslend. "I would say everyone is stepping up and committing to running, and hopefully we can get back to the state meet and shake things up a bit."
