Bridgeport Residents, Parks and Recreation Work Together to Solve Geese Problem

Posted: Updated:

Some residents in Bridgeport have a problem with Canadian geese.

They said the geese have been a problem in Briarwood Park for several years but recently, the geese have become a nuisance at the pond in the park.

The residents have worked with Bridgeport Parks and Recreation to solve the problem.

"Basically a plastic coyote and a couple Styrofoam alligator heads. The alligator heads have helped just a little bit, the coyote has helped a lot, but you have to move it around every day," said Don Burton, of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation.

The city has built a fence around the basketball court to keep the geese away and Burton said it's been effective.
