The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating a single-vehicle accident Tuesday.
The accident happened at approximately 10:57 a.m. on Interstate 79 near mile marker 114 in Harrison County.
Officials said a Dodge Neon was heading north on I-79 when the driver lost control. The vehicle then went off the shoulder into the gravel, sliding into the safety cables.
The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to United Hospital Center by ambulance with unknown injuries.
One northbound lane was closed following the accident but has since reopened.
