MORGANTOWN -

Vigilant Vet Racing is a non-profit organization that helps veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The group held a fundraiser on Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings at the Suncrest Towne Center.

Founder Rick Proctor encouraged vets to take up a certain sport at therapy: ATV racing.

"Once I started getting into in, I noticed the benefits I was receiving from it. It took my mind off some stuff, and relaxed me believe it or not. It's great to get out in the woods, take out some aggression, and ride around on some trails for a few hours," said Proctor.

Proctor said the money raised for the organization goes towards building an ATV for a double amputee veteran, to fund veterans' trips to local race tracks and for therapy.
