UPDATE: Water, Sewer Rates Increase in Farmington

Update

The town of Monongah recently made the decision to increase its water and sewer rates and now Farmington has, too.

Farmington is a resale customer of Monongah and the town council felt it was necessary to raise the rates.

The minimum water and sewer bill that residents receive in the town is $47.77 a month.

May Donna Costello said residents can expect to see roughly a $4.45 increase on their next minimum bill.

The town of Monongah recently made the decision to increase its water and sewer rates and now Farmington will have to, too.

Farmington is a resale customer of Monongah and the town council felt it was necessary to raise the rates.

Council approved an ordinance to raise its water and sewer rates by more than 30 percent.

It will hold a public hearing on the proposed rate hike on Monday, July 15.

If council were to approve it a second time, the increase would go into effect 45 days later.
