MORGANTOWN -

More than 300 cyclists from across the country were in Morgantown Saturday for the annual Hilly Billy Roubiax.

The race was hosted by the Appalachian Bicycle Racing Association (ABRA) and is the third round of the American Ultracross Series.

Cyclists face tough and varying terrain from pot holes, to mud and gravel roads.

At more than 70 miles long, the top cyclists will finish in around four hours, while others will take more than nine hours to complete the race.

"It's a tough series, the mileage, the type of roads. It's a road race, but you do not want to race a road bike on this. You want to use a mountain bike or cyclocross bike on this because of the different type of roads," said Gina Desmond of ABRA.
