GREENE COUNTY, Pa. -

The Skylar Neese story is still unfolding, but friends and family are doing their best to cope.

About 50 people went to Greene County, Pa to place a bench and other momentos at the spot Neese's body was found. Her father, Dave Neese, said that the area is open to anyone who wants to come and spend time with Skylar.

"Skylar was our pride and joy, our baby," said Neese. "This is the last place we knew she was alive, for sure, and it just really means something special to us."

Shania Ammons, one of Skylar's best friends, also attended the placing of the bench.

"I like coming up here because I know she's here, knowing that she was here. I don't know I just like to sit, and talk about the things we used to do all the time," said Ammons. "I'm really glad, I like this bench, I really like the bench and that I don't have to sit in the car and there are pictures up here so I can see her too."

Neese's family and friends are planning to go to the Greene County Coroner's Office to stage a protest.

The family said its time that the coroner let them bring their daughter back to West Virginia.
