The Notre Dame boys soccer team was very close to a sectional championship last year. However, an overtime loss to Bridgeport was the deciding factor in the end.
The Irish should have a decent amount of experience returning from a team that's certainly hungry for some success.
Head Coach Ian McAra said his team only loses 3-to-4 seniors from last year's group...but returns a lot of talent.
Also, he said the team's goals remain the same: advance to the Sectional Final, and then let the chips fall where they may.
"I really was satisfied with last season," McAra said. "We probably lost a couple of games in the season that we probably should have won. But to get to the final of the Sectional tournament was a really great accomplishment. We actually took Bridgeport in that game as well, which was an even better accomplishment. Unfortunately we lost the game, but in the end it was a great season."
