GREENE COUNTY, Pa. -

The Skylar Neese story is continuing with new developments, but the people that knew her are still trying to cope with her loss.

Family and friends went to the spot Skylar Neese's body was found in Greene County, Pennsylvania. A memorial place was set up with a bench, and other mementos in the area.

"I'm really glad I like this bench I really like the bench now I don't have to sit in my car and the fact that there are pictures up here that's what I really like so I can see her too," said Shania Ammons, one of Skylar's best friends.

"Although you think she may not be here she is," said Dave Neese. "And my thinking anyway. Skylar was such a good, upbeat person it makes you feel better when you're here for some reason. I don't know why but it does."

There were tears and smiles, but there was mostly support. People took pictures and brought things to place at the site.

"I got her Bob Marley poster from her parents and I went and got that cross and spray painted it Bob Marley colors," said Ammons. "And I put her name on it. And got the Bob Marley key chain cause I know she would have loved it."

Around 50 people showed up for the memorial and dedication.

"Just anything I can do I'll be there for them," said Telena Hare, a family friend. "I didn't know Skylar personally but I felt like she was one of my own children."

"She was an awesome person and whoever didn't get to know her I'm so sorry," Ammons said. "And thanks for supporting her. I love her and I miss her so much."

The family is now concerned with getting Skylar's remains back to West Virginia so they can give her a proper burial.

"There's no reason for them to hold her this long. I mean they have reports to do and I understand that but do them and get her back to us," said Dave Neese. "There's no further testing to be done, it's all been done. So they need to return her so we can put a close to this part of it."

The Neese family canceled a planned protest at the Greene County Coroner's Office Monday.

Dave Neese had this statement:

"They have agreed to make it a very short wait and they will return her to West Virginia State Police in a couple of weeks at the most. Hope to God they are telling the truth."

The Neese family is hoping they will not have to reschedule the protest at the Greene County Coroner's Office.
