West Virginia State Police in Weston are alerting people to a scam.

Cpl. M.S. Clark said people are being notified by phone that they have won a gift card from Wal-Mart, Target, or other stores, and that they need to provide their banking information to cover a $6 processing fee.

State Police want to remind people not to provide your banking information over the phone.
