MONONGALIA COUNTY -

Mountaineer United Soccer Club is one of the largest soccer clubs in West Virginia.

The club is a merge from Buckskin Adult Soccer, West Virginia United Travel Soccer and Monongalia Youth Soccer.

More than 2,000 people are members of the club and it has games around four times a week. But the club isn't just about bringing soccer to the residents of West Virginia.

"Our grand vision out here, I guess, is to have about 16 fields that we can scatter around the county and that we can use to host large scale tournaments,' said Whitey McDaniel, the MUSC President. "Doing things like that, of that scale, brings in a lot of visitors, a lot of tourism, has a really nice economic impact on the community."

The Mountaineer United Soccer Club plays games at Laurel Point Fields and at Mylan Park.
