WVU's NAFTC Selected to Natural Gas Vehicle Transition Team

Posted: Updated:

WVU's National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium has been selected to the governor's Natural Gas Vehicle Transition Team.

NAFTC said the state is working to transition state-owned vehicles to natural gas powered ones.

It said its job will be training drivers, technicians, and managers on the vehicles.

NAFTC said West Virginia utilizing its abundant natural resource sends a huge message.

"We're using fuel that's internally based in the state of West Virginia. It's improving our economy, it's keeping off foreign oil, and it's cleaner burning," said Bill Davis, of NAFTC.

Natural gas stations in Buckhannon, Bridgeport, Jane Lew and Charleston are already planned.
