$7.4 Million Sewer Extension Project To Extend Sewer Services in Randolph County

Posted: Updated:

Residents in Randolph County are celebrating a $7.4 million sewer extension project.

The project will extend sewer service to roughly 270 customers in the Norton-Harding-Jimtown Public Service District.

Residents in those areas have had sewage problems for years.

They said they're happy the service is coming.

"When we got the water that was the big thing, because for years the water would be off days at a time, and we would go down the back road and haul water. The new water came, and in two years the sewage would be there, and that was 30 years ago and we're now just getting the sewage, but very excited," said Carol Edmond, Norton resident.

The project includes upgrading a sewage treatment plant in Junior.

It will be finished next year.
