Drivers Learning to Navigate Through New Roundabout in Morgantown

Posted: Updated:

It's been a week since the new Morgantown roundabout opened, and drivers may be getting the hang of it.

Many said they thought the intersection wouldn't work but after trying it out for a week, some locals said drivers will grow accustomed to it over time.

"It's been less, but I've noticed that there are people that have trouble navigating it and tend to stop going into it and out of it when they don't need to, so I think like anything else it's a learning curve, and it will get better as time goes by," said Stephen Bender, Morgantown resident.

"I've only been in it once so I can't say for sure, but I think it's going to be a great thing once everyone gets used to it. It's going to take a little to get used to, but after that I think it will be a tremendous help with the flow of traffic," said Travis Carrow, Morgantown resident.

When this phase of construction is finished, next month a roundabout bypass lane will open for traffic from 705 to Willey Street.
