Independence Day festivities did not end with the Greenbrier Classic.
Canaan Valley State Park held a Red, White and Blue Scramble Golf Tournament on Thursday.
The event was open to any golfer who happened to venture out to the Canaan Valley golf course. The tournament also held contests such as closest to the pin and lowest scoring team.
The weather held up all day, creating a great golf atmosphere on the Fourth of July.
Canaan Valley Pro Shop Manager Sherri Harold said the gorgeous day only added to the event.
"We have a lot of local play with guests and season pass holders who are coming out," Harold said. "It's a small event and doesn't distract from the regular play. They've got tee times just like everybody else. They're also enjoying a beautiful and sunny Fourth of July."
