Update

A man has been arrested in connection to a robbery at the BFS on the Mileground July 5.

Bren Stewart, 24 of Morgantown, was arrested and charged with armed robbery. He was arraigned at the Monongalia County Magistrate Court Thursday.

He is currently in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $25,000.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department said it will charge a man accused of robbing a BFS after he's released from the hospital.

The sheriff's department said the man is scheduled to have surgery.

It said the man used a knife to rob the BFS on the Mileground Friday night.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and broke his leg as he left the scene.

He's in Ruby Memorial Hospital.

A man is in Ruby Memorial Hospital after authorities say he robbed a Monongalia County gas station Friday night, then broke his leg running from them.

State police said the man with a knife came into the BFS gas station on the Mileground just before midnight and demanded cash.

He then took off on foot and ran into a wooded area, where police found him unable to move.

State police said he injured his leg after attempting to jump off a series of 12-foot walls.

The man will be taken to the North Central Regional Jail after he is released from the hospital.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
