Temperatures nearly hit 90 degrees Saturday afternoon, but that didn't stop Harrison County residents from coming out to Clarksburg City Park in Nutter Fort for some fun in the sun.

Organizers set up a carnival for kids with games and face-painting. Local food vendors were also on hand.

The circus was supposed to come to town with exotic animals, but organizers had to bring in a petting zoo instead.

Several of those who attended said they look forward to the event every year.

"Just to hang out, come out here, support the community, spend time with my family," said Chris Bartlett of West Milford, "usually my friends show up and stuff, we'll hang out a little bit."

"Anytime there's a festival in the area, we'll go to Charleston, Wheeling, any place in the state of West Virginia, if there's a fair or festival," said vendor Janie Cascarelli-Kitzmiller of Cascarelli's Old Country Wine.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk.
