The Bridgeport Police Department has arrested a Fairmont man and charged him with soliciting a minor via a computer.
Christopher Matthew Marcum, 38, contacted a 15-year-old girl on a social media website and said that he was looking for a long term relationship with a young teenager. He told the girl that "they could go parking and see what happens", according to a criminal complaint.
Marcum agreed to meet the girl at a Bridgeport restaurant on July 11. He admitted that he knew the girl was underage and said that he texted and asked her if she was a cop because he didn't want to get into trouble, according to a criminal complaint.
Marcum was arrested at the scene. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $30,000.
