The West Virginia University College of Business and Economics is asking for nominations for the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame, the university recently announced.

The hall of fame has inducted 54 people since its start in 2001. According to the university's news release, nominees must exhibit extraordinary leadership, commitment to their community and have strong West Virginia ties. Having a college degree is not a requirement.

Last year's inductees were J. Brett Harvey, CEO of CONSOL Energy Inc; Thomas Jones, president/CEO of West Virginia United Health System and Julie M. Smith, co-founder of the Continuous Learning Group.

"Members of the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame have strong ties to the state and have made a significant impact on the landscape of business," said Jose "Zito" Sartarelli, Milan Puskar dean of the WVU business school.

People may submit nominations through Aug. 15 by visiting http://be.wvu.edu/hall_fame/pdfs/Nomination_Form.pdf .
