Arthurdale residents were transported back to the 1930s to celebrate the 'New Deal' on Saturday.

The festival celebrates FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt's 'New Deal' program that took place in 1934.

The deal helped many of the residents of Arthurdale get out of unsatisfactory living conditions.

The town still celebrates the event with help from Arthurdale Heritage.

"I think that it's something that everyone in the area should come out and take advantage of," said Jim Barnes, a volunteer at Arthurdale Heritage and a 'Living History' re enactor. "It's a nice little tourist thing to do, it's in your backyard, you don't have to spend a lot of money in gasoline to go see it, and it's very interesting."

Events at the festival included everything from food vendors to blacksmith demonstrations.
