Uncle Bill's Ice Cream Stand Opens in Elkins

Posted: Updated:

The hot temperatures and high humidity make this the perfect week to open an ice cream stand.

Uncle Bill's Ice Cream Stand has opened in Elkins.

Co-owner Tammy Lipscomb said she named the ice cream stand after her 93-year-old father.

Uncle Bill offers a variety of ice cream and soft serve flavors and Lipscomb said she hopes it will provide family memories at an affordable price.

"It's a community builder simply because while you're waiting in line, you're talking to people, you're meeting people, and you're sharing things that's something our world has gotten away from with the media generation that's out there. We're not facebooking, we're face to facing people," Lipscomb said.

Lipscomb works with a dairy provider in Maryland.

There's also a neighboring produce market called Bennett's Market. Both are located off North Randolph Avenue in Elkins.

It's located near the Randolph County Visitors Center on Randolph Avenue.
