Clarksburg City Council approved a second reading of the ordinance to acquire the Rose Garden Theater, Thursday night.
Clarksburg City Council met Thursday night to discuss ‘The Robinson Grand Theater', also known as the ‘Rose Garden Theater', that the city plans to acquire.

On Monday, the White Hall Town Council accepted the resignation of councilwoman Beverly Owens and appointed Zella Keener to take her place.

In other business, Mayor Guy Ward said that a formal complaint concerning a shortfall in state alcohol and beverage tax receipts was filed and received. Ward said he hopes to hear from the state tax department in the near future.

Council also repealed White Hall's municipal fee for fire and protection services.

"We just got rid of that big fee. We'll look at just the fire fee and I could see us raising it a little bit, but not no thousand percent. We'll maybe raise it five percent you know a little bit," said Ward.

Council is addressing a proposed annexation of Cloverdale Heights. Ward said things are looking up for White Hall.
