The University boys lacrosse team was the best in the state last year, and it was not very close.
Rival squads were forced to pick their poison. Do they guard Alex Battin? Or maybe Bryan Okubo? Or even key in on Shane Thompson?
Even with the abundance of talent, there was one that elevated himself to an even higher standard.
Shane Thompson lit up the lacrosse field with his powerful shot and elusiveness. Now Thompson is being recognized nationally as one of the top 96 high school lacrosse players in the United States.
The former University standout flew down to Orlando, Florida on Tuesday morning for the 2013 All-American Showcase presented by Champion.
Thompson has already committed to play his college lacrosse in-state at Ohio Valley University next year.
Thompson will compete on one of four teams, which are yet to be determined. All four squads will covet some of America's top talent.
The teams will take the field at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on Wednesday and are guaranteed four games. The Championship Game will be televised nationally on ESPNU on Friday night at 7 p.m.
