Fire destroyed a home Wednesday night in Doddridge County.

It started just before 11:30 p.m. off of Route 23 in Sedalia.

Five people and nine dogs were home at the time, and they all made it out safely, officials said.

Fire Chief Leon Bonnell said the house is a total loss. It took about an hour to get it under control.

The McClellan, Wallace, Reynoldsville, Smithburg, Shirley, and West Union Fire Departments all responded.

The fire rekindled around 3:30 a.m. and the Wallace Fire Department responded.

Fire Chief Bonnell said the fire is not suspicious.
