Applications are being accepted for the Leadership Harrison Planning Team.

The deadline to apply is July 31 and class will begin on September 13. The program, which is in its 17th year, holds nine sessions from September to May.

Sessions focus on areas of the community, including media, education, aerospace, healthcare, government, and economic and regional development.

The program is an "intensive public affairs/leadership development program designed to expand the community's civic leadership," according to officials.

Participants must attend a required orientation retreat, all nine sessions and a graduation dinner.

To apply, visit http://www.harrisoncountychamber.com/LH/ or call the Chamber office at 304-624-6331.

Tammy Welling, chair of the Leadership Harrison Planning Team, sat down with Don Graye to talk more about the program.
