ELKINS, WV -

The Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College will present bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys as the headline attraction for the Augusta Festival Concert Aug. 10.

The concert will start at 6 p.m. in Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. The show will open with Joe Newberry & Friends followed by The Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers at 7 p.m.

Stanley has been performing and recording bluegrass music for more than six decades, and among his best-known works are "Man of Constant Sorrow," and "Angel Band."

Stanley's contributions to the soundtrack for the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" earned him two Grammy awards in 2001, and his work with the Clinch Mountain Boys and Jim Lauderdale on "Lost in the Lonesome Pines" netted him another Grammy in 2002.

Stanley received the Living Legend award from the Library of Congress in 2006. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000 and the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor in 1992.

Tickets are $20 for general admission and free of cost to Augusta Week five participants as well as D&E faculty, staff and students. Tickets can be purchased at itickets.com, by calling 1-800-965-9324 or at the door.

The Augusta Festival Dance is scheduled for 8 p.m. Aug. 9 in the open-air pvilion, and the Festival Gospel Sing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 in Robbins Chapel.
