REEDSVILLE -

The Preston County Antique Tractor and Machinery show was at the WVU Reedsville Arena Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28.

The show brings out people from around the state to show off their best and oldest antique tractors.

There are also some other machinery and antique cars that show up.

The tractors can range anywhere from 90 to 150 years old.

"Well we takes, as old as they gets. Most of the time they are around the beginning of the 1920's," said Butch Mayfield, the President of the Preston County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association. "This year we have them up to 1963, they can be later ones. That'd be no problem."

It's a two day event consisting of vendors, food booths, games and prizes.

Participants can compete in barrel races and get prizes for a number of different competitions.

Tractors are judged on Saturday afternoon and the winners were announced on Sunday.

"What tractor is on the premises then is judged," said Mayfield. "The best restored, the best unrestored, then we give prizes for exhibitors that is the youngest, ones that traveled the furthest, best in show hit and miss engines, best in show farm machinery operated. So we give out a lot of prizes and ribbons."

Anyone can bring their tractor out to be shown off, not just members of the Preston County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association.

"Thirteen different makes. Like Chase, International Farm Home, Ford, John Deer, Fordson. We've got an old Fordson this year. We've got all the makes here," Mayfield said.
