    Clarksburg City Council approved a second reading of the ordinance to acquire the Rose Garden Theater, Thursday night.
    Clarksburg City Council met Thursday night to discuss ‘The Robinson Grand Theater', also known as the ‘Rose Garden Theater', that the city plans to acquire.

The West Virginia Division of Culture and History has awarded three counties in our area development grant funds.

19 projects involved restoration and rehabilitation of historic sites.

Randolph County received two grants.

Davis and Elkins College got $89,658 to assist with restoring gutters and the roof at Graceland Inn, and the Randolph County Housing Authority received $11,150 to assist work at the Bishop Apartments.

Marion County and Preston County also received funding.

$44,883 went to assist with restoring the masonry walls, soffits and fascia; gables; and windows on Our Country Corner in Fairmont.  

Arthurdale Heritage Inc., $1,100 to assist with restoring the windows on the Arthurdale Forge in Arthurdale.

Total funds awarded came to more than $520,000.
