If you think there's something that looks a tad bit different on the campus of Davis and Elkins College during the start of the school year, then you're not alone.
D&E is in the process of installing new AstroTurf for the men's and women's soccer teams. The project should be ready in time for the upcoming 2013 season.
The idea was originally thought of back in January, and workers have been preparing diligently ever since.
The field measures 115 yards by 75 yards. The field will include markings specifically for the men's and women's soccer programs.
The D&E logo will also be placed in the center of the field.
"We feel excited about our season starting and about the field being finished too, and to see those final touches on it is fantastic," Davis & Elkins Head Men's Soccer Coach Aron Bassoff said.
It will take about three weeks for the AstroTurf to be laid down. The actual construction will begin on Monday, August 5.
The D&E men's soccer team will begin its season on September 8th at 1 p.m. when the Senators take on East Stroudsburg. It will be the first game that will be played on the new AstroTurf.
Davis & Elkins will also begin play in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) during the upcoming academic school year.
