The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce presented a donation to the Lewis County Sheriff's Department Tuesday.

The chamber presented a $2,000 check and thanked the department for its help at the annual Stonewall Triathlon.

Sheriff Michael Gissy said the money can be put to good use in many ways.

"One in particular is educational outreach for children. I feel that that's a worthwhile expense, and it's certainly something that's going to be most helpful for it," Gissy said.

This year's triathlon will take place at Stonewall Resort on August 17. For more information, contact the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce at 304-269-2608
