MORGANTOWN -

The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond held a fundraiser Thursday evening that was the first of its kind.

The event raised money for Girl Scouts in West Virginia through a silent auction.

The all-female event did raise money for the Girl Scouts but also had a girl theme. The name ties into the girl scout founder's story.

"[The] theme was 'Girls in Pearls' it goes back to a young woman out of Savannah, Georgia who sold a very expensive, rare strand of pearls to start the Girl Scouts organization," said Amanda Padson, a Girl Scouts Volunteer. "So we kind of built upon that theme, 'Girls in Pearls,' it was the first one, very successful."

The prizes for the auctions also had a "girl theme." This included spa packages and a free personal trainer.
