4 Marion County Men Face Drug Charges Following Bust in Fairmont

The Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested four people on drug charges Thursday night.

"There was three to four people in the residence, all of which were detained. Upon searching the residence we found a large amount of U.S. Currency and pills. Oxycodone. 30 milligrams," said Chief Deputy Ralph Wright, Marion County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputies seized 367 Oxycodone pills, totaling more than $14,000 in worth. Deputies also seized a quarter pound of marijuana and two firearms from a house on Gaston Avenue in Fairmont.

It charged Eric Wise with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.

It also arrested his brother, Michael Wise, and charged him with a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

Robert Austin is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.  

Chancellor Christopher is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

Eric Wise, Austin, and Christopher were taken to the North Central Regional Jail.  Eric Wise's bail is set at $60,000.  Austin's bail is set at $40,000 and Christopher's bail is set at $30,000.  

Deputies said the bust happened at Eric Wise's home, after several weeks of investigating and following up on tips of reported drug crimes involving narcotics.  Deputies made the arrest after several buys were made using a confidential informant and a search warrant was granted.

Deputies said the drug bust is another way the department is working to get drugs out of Marion County for good.

"This is just another way of us saying if you are going to deal with any kind of illegal narcotics, you better be looking over your shoulder because we're coming after you," Chief Deputy Wright said.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests may be pending.
