The Lewis County Commission is getting ready for a ribbon cutting for its new judicial annex.

At its regular meeting Monday, the commission invited the public to the event at 2 p.m. on August 20.

The entire courthouse will be available for the public to see, and the commission will offer tours that afternoon.

Twelve county offices will move into the annex after it opens, bringing many county offices together for the first time under one roof.

"This will help to offer the consumer, the taxpayer, as well as an employee of the county a much more conducive place to do business," said Pat Boyle of the Lewis County Commission.

Commissioners said this will be the only chance for the public to see the secured areas of the new annex before it opens for business at the end of the month.
