44 players from the Mountain East Conference have earned preseason All-America honors by USA College Football. The MEC had six players named to the first team and had players from nine teams represented on the first, second, third and honorable mention squads.
The team was selected by head coaches, sports information directors, CFL and NFL scouts, broadcast, internet, national and regional print and magazine media, members of football writers' associations along with the staff of USA College Football.
Shepherd's Howard Jones and Keon Robinson, Concord's Jake Lilly and Riyahd Richardson and Urbana's D.J. Mendenhall and Daniel Goodrum were all first team selections. Mendenhall was the only offensive player from the MEC to earn first team honors.
The Rams had 10 players earn recognition from USA Football, while Concord, Urbana and Fairmont State each had six players mentioned. Charleston placed five members on the teams, followed by four from West Liberty and three from Glenville State. Notre Dame College and West Virginia State were each represented by one player.
