The trend of combining a night out with a painting lesson is picking up steam in West Virginia.

Uncork and Create opened last week near the Barboursville Mall.

The business provides paint, canvas, an easel and brushes along with a local artist to lead participants through each step of creating their own 16x20-inch painting to take home.

The portrait to be created during each session is decided upon ahead of time.

The brand bills itself as "art entertainment," opening the door for private events such as children's birthday parties, bachelorette parties and even corporate team building.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own adult beverages and snacks to help unleash their creativity.

The Barboursville location also offers sushi-making classes and wine glass painting events.

Uncork and Create has a Charleston location, and both are locally owned and operated by West Virginia natives Danielle and Larry Snidow.
